Gary is a New Zealand-born artist who has moved from a high-pressure daily newspaper editorial graphics department to the tranquility of nature.

His subject range has been equally broad. In his past career he ran the gamut from computer info-graphics to caricature. He has enjoyed sketching the ships that sail past his home on the beautiful Manukau Harbour, but now his reputation rests on his ability to see birdlife in a unique way.

His medium is open acrylics on linen, which enables him to produce works in fine detail.

“I have to get it right” He says. “I like attention to detail in my works, with a little bit of quirkiness, and often a touch of humour.
